New Jersey hometown visit and seeing Kardos Family in Delaware

After leaving a fun week in Maryland we headed further East to Cherry Hill, New Jersey- Kevin’s hometown! We stayed in front of his childhood buddy, Zach Rosenberg’s house. It was so great to spend time with Zach, Amber, and their kids. The first night we had to order pizza from Vito’s Italian- one of his favorite restaurants from when he lived here and it was delicious! Bentley had a blast playing with all Asher’s Hess trucks and planes.

Friday we had brunch at a diner in town which are everywhere on the East coast. We then did a tour around Cherry Hill to see Kevin’s homes he grew up in, places he worked, his schools, and his old swim club.

Friday afternoon Ashlee & Amber got to enjoy some mommy pampering pedicures!! 💅🏼 That evening Zach spoiled us all with BBQing a flank steak with baked beans, rice, and pasta. Yum! Saturday morning we all hung out a little more before packing up to head to the ferry to take us across to Delaware. Thanks so much to the Rosenberg family for hosting us!! It was great to see you all and hang out more than just a few quick hours.

From Cherry Hill we had a 1.5 hour drive down to Cape May to catch the ferry across to Lewes, Delaware. It was a fun adventure taking the RV onto the ferry and the boys loved the boat ride.

After arriving in Lewes, DE we spent one quick night at Big Oaks Campground in Rehoboth Beach. It has a nice pool for us to all enjoy. The following day we packed up to head to our beach side campground at Delaware Seashores State Park. It’s a cool location near an outdoor restaurant we enjoy called Big Chill and a quick bike ride under the bridge to the beach. We spent the afternoon enjoying the sun and waves! Kevin’s dad, stepmom, step cousin Joey & his girlfriend, brother Ryan and nieces all joined us at the beach. That evening we met up with Ryan and our nieces, Charlotte, Madeline & Amelia at Crooked Hammock Brewery for dinner and kids playtime. They have a big playground and hammocks to keep the kids entertained!

The next day we biked over to the beach again for some more swimming. Kevin’s dad joined us for a quick lunch after the boys naptime then we got all our laundry done after finding a FREE washing machine! Haha! That evening we ventured out for dinner to a yummy locals spot called Blue Coast Seafood Grill then had a late night venture to the campground playground!

The next day it was time to pack up and head south down the East Coast to the Carolinas! One of the highlights of the drive was going over/under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel which is a 17.6 mile stretch that is a bridge with 2 underwater tunnels.

We made a quick stop in Chesapeake, Virginia at a city park to let the boys run around and play before finishing our drive to North Carolina! Next stop… Kitty Hawk, NC
